PROKON is on the final straight at Construction of SOCAR Ammonia and Urea Plant

PROKON, subsidiary of Nobel Oil Services in Construction and Project Management, fulfilled Construction Works at SOCAR Ammonia and Urea Plant, in conformity with the remaining Commissioning activity of the plant that is ongoing. 


PROKON undertook the prestigious SOCAR Ammonia & Urea Complex Project as the Main Construction Contractor, working with Samsung Engineering Co., Ltd., EPC Contractor of the Project. The plant is located about 35 km north side of Baku city, aimed to utilize abundant natural gas as a feedstock and produce 1,200 MTPD of ammonia and 2,000 MTPD of urea within a single complex.

By now, Ammonia Plant, Urea Plant and Urea handling facilities have been completed, pre-commissioning & preparation works for start-up are in progress. PROKON accomplished the following major activities in the Project with volumes of: Excavation (120,380 m3), Backfilling (55,800 m3), Concrete (51,500 m3), Building (7,587 m2), Piping Fabrication & Erection works (371,410 WDI), Tank Installation (16 tanks with a total volume capacity of 31,310 m3), structural steel erection (7,560 tons), Electrical Cable Installation (591,328 m), Instrumentation Cable Installation (446,613 m), Painting (125,000 m2) and all other related works.

PROKON successfully delivered the project for SOCAR Polymer

PROKON announces the accomplishment of engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) works at Conditioning Facility within PP/HDPE (Polypropylene/High density polyethylene) Project for SOCAR Polymer. The Conditioning Facility is located at the east site of the PP & HDPE Plant in Sumgayit and designed for the storage of end products with the overall building size of 84 x 176 m. and internal minimum height of 6 m.  

The project started in August 2016 and covered engineering, procurement, construction, fabrication and erection of steel structures, as well as obtaining permits from local authorities. Within the Project PROKON successfully accomplished Site Preparation, Civil Work and Earthworks phases with engineering, excavation, backfill, demolition, dewatering and protective barriers installation works.  

PROKON is pleased to report on more than 350,000 man-hours without lost time injury (LTI) at SOCAR Polymer Conditioning Facility project. Clear guideline set by management and commitment of the project team to a safe culture with a strong focus on Golden Safety Rules made this achievement possible.

PROKON signs contract with SOCAR-Uniper

One of Nobel Oil Services’ subsidiaries PROKON has entered into a new contract with SOCAR-Uniper. Within the framework of the contract, PROKON will undertake general construction works and pre-commissioning, coordinating and managing all of SOCAR-Uniper’s construction activities and procurement of structural materials for steam turbine building.


The contract will make a significant contribution to increasing the power supply of Azerikimya, an operator of Polyethylene Plant, while securing PROKON’s involvement in the general construction works for SOCAR-Uniper’s operations within the chemical complex in Sumgayit.


“Currently, SOCAR-Uniper’s power plant generates steam and power through two steam turbines. PROKON will install the third specifically designed steam turbo set, including ancillary infrastructures which intends to substantially accelerate the power production”, General Director of PROKON Azad Namazov said. “Realization of the project will play a critical role in improving energy efficiency of Azerikimya assets”, he added.
