PROKON launched a new office in Ankara, Turkey in February, 2020. The office is located in Sogutozu, business district of Ankara.
 

The vision of the company is to expand and become the leading contractor in the region providing engineering, procurement, construction and project management services. The goal of having an office in Turkey is to be involved and follow opportunities in this market and surrounding countries.
 

‘We would like to use this location to explore new markets in this region and establishing an eligible tendering department by recruiting highly skilled and experienced key people, including training young specialists from Azerbaijan. PROKON signs contract with SOCAR-Uniper

One of Nobel Oil Services’ subsidiaries PROKON has entered into a new contract with SOCAR-Uniper. Within the framework of the contract, PROKON will undertake general construction works and pre-commissioning, coordinating and managing all of SOCAR-Uniper’s construction activities and procurement of structural materials for steam turbine building.


The contract will make a significant contribution to increasing the power supply of Azerikimya, an operator of Polyethylene Plant, while securing PROKON’s involvement in the general construction works for SOCAR-Uniper’s operations within the chemical complex in Sumgayit.


“Currently, SOCAR-Uniper’s power plant generates steam and power through two steam turbines. PROKON will install the third specifically designed steam turbo set, including ancillary infrastructures which intends to substantially accelerate the power production”, General Director of PROKON Azad Namazov said. “Realization of the project will play a critical role in improving energy efficiency of Azerikimya assets”, he added.

Another milestone at SOCAR’s HAOR modernization project

Last week Prokon successfully completed fabrication and installation of five-section flare boom as part of SOCAR’s Heydar Aliyev Oil Refinery (HAOR) modernization project. 

The flare boom, also known as burner boom, is one of the essential parts of the refinery aimed to protect the asset and the lives of personnel in it. Following the successful construction of this truss (of 4 riser and 5 construction sections) structure, with the total height and weight of 116 metres and 201 tons, it was successfully installed on its permanent house at the HAOR. 

Noteworthy, the total DIA, during the fabrication of the flare boom, had reached 1191 inch. 

Prokon started the HAOR project in November 2018 in as a subcontractor of Kinetics Technology & Tecnimont JV. SOCAR initiated the revamp and upgrade of the refinery for facilities to manage processing of 7.5 MMTPA crude oil, while meeting quantity and quality requirements of products both to feed Azerkimya revamped petrochemical plant and to produce Euro V quality automotive transportation fuels.
