Prokon secures strategic repair and brownfield modifications contract in Türkiye

Prokon Makina, Insaat, Imalat, Montaj, Sanayi ve Ticaret Ltdş (Prokon Türkiye), Prokon’s subsidiary, is pleased to announce that it has signed a contract with Türkiye Petrol Rafinerileri A.S. (Tüpraş) to provide brownfield modifications and repair works of miscellaneous tanks for Izmit Refinery Tank Farm.  

Within the framework of the contract, Prokon Türkiye will carry out brownfield modifications and repair works of six storage tanks, more specifically crude oil, diesel, benzene, gasoline and water tanks, aimed at extending production life of these facilities.

The scope of the contract includes scaffolding works, blasting and painting works for six tanks and metal works for two tanks. The diameter of the tanks varies between 25 meters to 60 meters and the average height of the tanks are 14 meters. The period of the contract is 14 months.

Tüpraş is a Türkiye-based company specialized in the refining of crude oil and petroleum products. It operates four refineries in Izmir, Izmit, Kirikkale and Batman that are processing 33.2 million ton crude oil per year, and producing various petroleum products.  Tüpraş’s 2021 turnover was 11.3 billion USD.

PROKON receives honorable award from Ministry

PROKON was delighted to be awarded by the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Population for being the most Active Social Partner in private sector to support the employment of martyr families.  

During the special ceremony organized by the ministry and attended by a group of high level government officials, PROKON’s Deputy General Director Ariz Huseynov has received the highly meaningful award from the Minister Mr. Sahil Babayev.   

Starting 2017, PROKON has been working closely with the State Employment Agency under the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Population. The main focus areas, within this framework, have been the employment of vulnerable people, as well as people experiencing difficulties with employment. 

Within the partnership framework with the state agency, PROKON has allocated about 50 staff to allow parents raising children who require special care, people with disabilities including physically challenged children under the age of 18, as well as veterans, martyr family members, internally displaced people (until 2021) benefit from these employment opportunities. 

As a proud corporate citizen, PROKON will continue to support initiatives aimed at improving the employment opportunities for Azerbaijan’s vulnerable people.

Prokon lands new maintenance and repair works contract in Türkiye

  • Tüpraş’s one of the most critical packages – maintenance and repair works of furnaces – is trusted to Prokon
  • A new challenging contract to recognise Prokon as a reliable solution partner

 

Prokon Makina, Insaat, Imalat, Montaj, Sanayi ve Ticaret Ltd (Prokon Türkiye), Prokon’s subsidiary, is pleased to announce that it has signed a new contract with Türkiye Petrol Rafinerileri A.S. (Tüpraş) to provide maintenance and repair works of furnaces.

The contract takes in the maintenance and repair works of the furnaces in Unit 5 (Crude Oil Unit) and 21 (Naphta Hydrotreater/Desulphurization) of Tüpraş Izmit Refinery. 

Two crude oil furnaces, including their pre-heaters, one vacuum furnace including its air preheater, one sour gas incinerator and its stack will be serviced during the shutdown period. The shutdown period is expected to start in the beginning of October, 2022, and it is planned to be completed in 30 days.

As part of the current campaign, Prokon will deliver blinding, dismantling, cleaning, retubing, reassembly, replacement of various parts of the furnaces, which at the peak of the works will see around 110 people – some 90 pipe fitters/erectors and 16 alloy welders – mobilized to the site.
