Prokon Lands New Maintenance and Repair Works Contract in Türkiye

Tüpraş's one of the most critical packages – maintenance and repair works of furnaces – is entrusted to Prokon.

A new challenging contract recognizing Prokon as a reliable solution partner.

Prokon Makina, Insaat, Imalat, Montaj, Sanayi ve Ticaret Ltd. Şti. (Prokon Türkiye), Prokon's subsidiary, is pleased to announce that it has signed a new contract with Türkiye Petrol Rafinerileri A.Ş. (Tüpraş) to provide maintenance and repair works for furnaces.

The contract covers the maintenance and repair of furnaces in Units 5 (Crude Oil Unit) and 21 (Naphtha Hydrotreater/Desulphurization Unit) at the Tüpraş Izmit Refinery.

Two crude oil furnaces, including their preheaters, one vacuum furnace, including its air preheater, and one sour gas incinerator with its stack will be serviced during the shutdown period. The shutdown is expected to begin in early October 2022 and is planned to be completed within 30 days.

Vugar Samadli, CEO of Nobel Energy, said: "Prokon has successfully delivered on all key aspects of the previous strategic contract with Tüpraş, Türkiye's downstream giant. Entrusting one of the most critical maintenance and repair packages in the company's annual shutdown programme to Prokon underlines the company's confidence in Prokon as a reliable solution provider.

I am confident that Prokon will remain a trusted solution partner for Tüpraş's future undertakings by continuing to deliver high-quality results for both the current and future campaigns."

As part of the current campaign, Prokon will carry out blinding, dismantling, cleaning, retubing, reassembly, and the replacement of various furnace components. At the peak of the works, around 110 personnel, including approximately 90 pipe fitters/erectors and 16 alloy welders, will be mobilized to the site.
